The Jacob Pickett Response Organization relies solely on sponsorships, fundraising, and donations to complete our mission of providing support to law enforcement families in need. Your help makes our mission a reality. By sponsoring upcoming events, or providing much needed services to our families, you are showing others what it means to #respondlikejake. Thank you.

It is our honor to introduce you to our group, the Jacob Pickett Response Organization.

The Jacob Pickett Response Organization, or JPRO (J-Pro), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to assist Law Enforcement families with financial needs brought on by life’s traumatic events and to facilitate community support.

Deputy Jacob Pickett, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, was shot in the line of duty on March 2nd, 2018 while pursuing a suspect with his K9 Brik. After several days on life support, Jake died on March 5th after donating his organs to help others. Service to others was one of Jake’s greatest passions and he was constantly assisting others in need. He will be forever remembered for his acts of kindness of helping friends, family, and the community.

I am Deputy Jacob Pickett’s surviving spouse, Jen Pickett. It is my goal to lead an organization that will ease burdens in our law enforcement family. We hold two main fundraising events each year, our Annual Deputy Jacob Pickett Remembrance Day community event in Lebanon and a capitivating and unique polo match at Hickory Hall Polo Club in Whitestown. As an organization and community, we “Respond Like Jake” by raising funds to assist with medical bills, household needs, and other expenses related to the family’s hardship. The community has consistently shown up with overwhelming support for our law enforcement officer, LEO, families and JPRO. And we are eternally grateful.

In our short lifespan of two and a half years, we have finanacially assisted LEO families 5 times and are gearing up to assist two more. We have assisted with medical bills associated with a heartbreaking diagnosis, stage 4 Adenocarcinoma lung cancer, partnered with another nonprofit to purchase a PTSD service dog for an Army veteran and retired officer, assisted with medical deductibles and providing meals, and the list goes on.

The Jacob Pickett Response Organization needs your support to carry out our mission to help other law enforcement families. JPRO relies solely on sponsorships, fundraising, and donations. Funds and item donations will be used to carry out our mission.

We hope you will join us in supporting other law enforcement families by Responding like Jake.

Sponsorship Levels

Individual and corporate sponsors can earn a badge for responding like Jake. All donors receive a digital badge, are recognized on our website’s sponsor page, and at JPRO events. Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Blue Diamond sponsors earn more recognition and visibility. These sponsorships can be earned though one-time donations or “Match Blitz.” Match Blitzes allow JPRO to raise more by promoting the sponsor’s match of each individual donation, and they give the sponsor some great advertisement.
