DEAR SUPPORTER
It is our honor to introduce you to our group, the Jacob Pickett Response Organization.
The Jacob Pickett Response Organization, or JPRO (pronounced “J-pro”), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to assisting Law Enforcement families with financial needs brought on by life’s traumatic events and to facilitate community support.
Deputy Jacob Pickett, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, was shot in the line of duty on March 2nd, 2018, while pursuing a suspect with his K9 Brik. After several days on life support, Jake died on March 5th after donating his organs to help others. Service to others was one of Jake’s greatest passions, and he was constantly assisting others in need. He will be forever remembered for his acts of kindness in helping friends, family, and the community. I am Deputy Jacob Pickett’s surviving spouse, Jen Pickett. It is my goal to give back to the law enforcement family that stood with me during my time of need by leading an organization that helps them when they need us to stand with them.
On March 7th, 2020, we held the Deputy Jacob Pickett 2nd Annual Remembrance Day to raise funds for a family near and
dear to our hearts, the Farinellas. Joe, a deputy for the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department, and his wife, Amanda, have 2 beautiful daughters. In the fall of 2019, Amanda received a heartbreaking diagnosis, stage 4 Adenocarcinoma lung cancer that had spread rapidly through her body. As an organization and community, we “Responded Like Jake” by raising funds to assist with medical bills and other expenses related to their hardship. The community showed overwhelming support for the Farinellas and JPRO. We are happy to report that Amanda is thriving and beating cancer one day at a time with overwhelming success.
Since then, we have held more Remembrance Day fundraisers, each one growing bigger than the last, polo matches, and a law enforcement gala. This year, we will hold our first Heroes & Hearts Festival in June. We have helped 21 families, 7 of which are Boone County law enforcement, and have given over $100,000 out. We have assisted with meal trains, deductibles, purchasing a PTSD service dog, funeral expenses, unexpected household bills, meal subscriptions, animal care, PTSD rehab, Leukemia treatment costs, ongoing cancer medical bills, cleaning services, dog training, meal prep, and the list goes on.
The Jacob Pickett Response Organization needs your support to carry out our mission to help other law enforcement
families. JPRO relies solely on sponsorships, fundraising, and donations. Funds and item donations will be used to carry out our mission.
We hope you will join us in supporting other law enforcement families by responding like Jake.
Sincerely,

Jen Pickett
